If you had to guess, you'd probably pronounce the name wrong! We know, we did it too!
Pronounced BEE-Shawn FREE-say, this breed is a happy go lucky breed, with a cheeky side,

gives lots of Love but also needs lots of attention.

These are purebred dogs, but as with all breeds, can often be found in your local animal shelter.

We strongly suggest you adopt and don't shop when looking for a dog to join your family.

Very quickly, your new Bichon Frise will become your happiest and most enthusiastic friend, they are super clever, super playful and new pet owners (including kids) find it easy to get on with this breed.

So what's the downside? This breed is highly energetic and needs lots of attention. This means that they are not the ideal choice for a laid back pet owner who doesn't have much time to spend with them. They can quickly get depressed if left alone or without attention for long periods of time.

Whilst most believe that this breed does not shed fur, that is not true. All breeds shed their fur, all pet owners must expect some sort of fur in the house! This breed has a double coat which prevents their fur from dropping on the ground, this also means that they can quickly get matted or knotted fur if they're not groomed on a regular basis. This can cause pain to your pets and should be avoided.

Bichon Frises are not known to wander the neighborhood or bark without reason, they're also very

easy to train.

They rate very highly when it comes to friendliness, they're great with kids, great with other dogs, friendly towards strangers or guests in your home and show a lot of affection.

To get a healthy Bichon, never ever buy from an irresponsible breeder, puppy mill or the internet. Look for a reputable breeder who cares about their breed and does not over-breed. Once again, we highly recommend first calling all of your local shelters, there is always a perfect pet looking for a forever home!
