Each Barking Heads adult dog formula is made to target a specific health issues like skin & coat care and hip & joint care.
Barking Heads has also made their non-grain-free formulas cater to choosy eaters (Fusspot), dogs with sensitive stomachs (Tender Loving Care) and small breeds (Tiny Paw’s Bad Hair Day).
Their non-grain-free formulas are made with 45 to 50% meat, and tend to have limited ingredients.
Each Barking Heads bag has no more than twenty ingredients, all of which are simple and easy to understand.
Barking Heads’ grain-free formulas are made with 50% meat and complex carbohydrates like sweet potatoes, lentils and peas.
They come in three flavours: Fish-N-Delish, Turkey Delight and Quackers, and are all free of grains and chicken.
This makes them easily digested, and are recommended for dogs that are allergic to chicken and grains such as rice and barley.
All Barking Heads’ grain-free formulas also contain lucerne (also known as alfalfa), which is a good source of protein, fibre, vitamins and minerals like iron, magnesium, Vitamin A, C, E and more!
Puppies and senior dogs have different nutritional needs from adult dogs, puppies for example need DHA for brain development.
Puppy Days has DHA for brain and eye development, added calcium for strong bones and teeth, and prebiotic FOS & MOS for better gastrointestinal health and immune system.
Senior dogs on the other hand need a little help with their hips and joints, and require an easier-to-digest, lower GI diet too.
