Specially formulated to meet the needs of African Greys, Macaws, Senegals etc
Breeding extruded food is formulated to stimulate reproduction. It contains high levels of protein with suitable amino acids for this stage. Moreover, it is formulated with particular attention to fatty acids, Omega 6 and Omega 3 inputs. The concentration of vitamins and antioxidants of this product is higher than maintenance extruded foods in order to satisfy the increased requirements during breeding season.
It is designed to constitute 100% of the parrot's diet. However, if fresh fruit and vegetables are provided daily to lend variety to the diet, we recommend that Psittacus should constitute no less than 70-80% of the total intake.
No vitamin or mineral supplements should be given to parrots whose basic principal food is Psittacus. In the case of reiterated and/or numerous lays, we suggest to allow our Psittacus Grit Coarse available as a calcium source of voluntary intake.
Daily intake: Birds consumption varies between 5% and 8% of body weight. Medium-sized species (for example, African Grey) consume around 25-40 g per day.
